Moderate physical activity can be resumed after three weeks or so, but the bandage should be worn as much as possible during the day. After three months no elastic bandage is needed at all and the patient can return to normal physical activity. Since so many fat cells have been removed, it takes some time for the body to readjust, and in some cases the final result can not be assessed until six to twelve months after the operation. In the unlikely event that some correction should be necessary, it can be made at this time.
After a liposuction operation the skin over the treated area feels numb, but this is entirely normal. It can take up to a few months for the skin to regain its normal sensitivity.
If skin elasticity is good and other conditions are also good, and if the operation has been done carefully, the surface is smooth and natural after liposuction. Most patients who have realistic expectations are extremely satisfied with the results.
